I'm interested in learning more about it, because before this book, I really only knew obscure facts about it. Burned is very, very extreme in its depiction of the Mormon Church, so I can't really leave my knowledge of it to that. I'll be looking into it some more to get a better picture!

The verse format is hard. I admit that for the first part of it, I just pretended that I was reading a normal novel with funny line spacing. But I came around to it. Poetry sits well with me if it's not too...profound? :pClaireLineshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16232383817346343195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1817447134597157272.post-48808848826210343212010-03-03T02:39:14.781-08:002010-03-03T02:39:14.781-08:00Interesting, My cousins are devout Mormons and the...Interesting, My cousins are devout Mormons and they are some of the nicest people I have ever met. They put away half of what they earn to charity which I think you have to be a pretty big person to do. Some of their beliefs are kind of wacky, but for the sake of your sanity I won't go into that (I am coming to realise my ranting powers).

I think it would be interesting to find out the Authors background like I did for my 1984 review and seeing if that had any impact upon the book.

As for the novel itself, I don't know if I could read a novel-length poem. Poetry isn't really my thing. I was a constant source of annoyance to my english teachers because I would always say: 'It's not poetry, It doesn't rhyme!'Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
